EVALUATION- Q4, How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

EVALUATION- Q3, EXTENSION- Facebook audience feedback

I decided to show my music video to my friends on Facebook. Above are the comments I've received from them. People commented on how it was "Really creative and unique". Someone also said how they were "captivated from start to finish" and how it "worked well with the music".
This extra feedback allowed me to understand feedback from those outside of my media studies class and lets me have feedback from an array of different audiences. This gives a better look at how my music video would be released in the general public.

EVALUATION- Q3, What have you learned from your audience feedback?

EVALUATION- Q2, How effective is the combination of your man product and ancillary texts?

As time proliferates ancillary texts is becoming less important. This is due to the digitalisation of the music industry. Due to platforms such as iTunes and Google Play, digipaks are becoming less popular although the uniqueness of it, they still remain. Music videos are very vital in the music industry and for some artists are as important as the song they are making. A music video shapes the artist and forms their image. The combination between my music video and my digipak and poster really creates an effective product and represents my artist well. The theme throughout everything is that the artist (Exodus) is hidden. In all both my main product and ancillary texts, there is no images of my artist. This connotes mystery and a hidden persona.
I have tried to link the shapes and style between the main product and ancillary texts so that the audience would understand the stylistic features I am trying to convey. Although of this I did not want to make the main product and ancillary texts too similar as an artist wouldn’t typically base their whole album on just one of their music videos as this wouldn’t allow other singles to be as popular. My main product and ancillary texts are effective as they are engaging and unique whilst they try to follow some conventions of the genre.

I wanted both my products to attract to my target audience of someone who would enjoy the more quirky side of the EDM genre. I believe someone who would receive my products would enjoy clubbing and going out and this is why I included the whole club theme throughout both my main and ancillary products. I believe that my audience would be someone who is around the ages of 18-25, this is why I used pragmatic hints to childhood with LEGO.

EVALUATION- Q1, In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
